Bookmark Buddy was created by me, Nicolas Trahan. I wanted to fill a gap in Chrome that had existed since launch, its lack of a true bookmark sidebar. Some extensions would add a sidebar that would hover over the page, but I wanted something that would sit nicely to the side. Thus Bookmark Buddy was born.

Google did finally add a sidebar to Chrome in early 2023, however, so this extension has lost its main reason for existing. Nonetheless, you might still prefer its look and feel compared to the built-in sidebar.
